About Music City Movers

The Man Behind Music City Movers

Back in 1986, Larry Davis Sr. and his brother were working cleaning out basements, garages and delivering furniture from stores. One day Larry was asked to help a local man move and realized an opportunity. He soon bought his own truck and started Music City Movers. He then hired an experienced professional staff of movers to help him grow his business and several of those original moving company employees still work with us today. Music City Movers was soon overwhelmed with all the moving business we were receiving and sometimes had to outsource to other moving companies.

We grew completely by word of mouth and didn’t advertise at all until the last few years. Larry still owns the moving company and there is still a member of his family at every job.

Music City Movers is a business founded on respect and communication and we believe in doing our job in a timely manner with attention to value and protection of your possessions. We are insured and bonded and are very careful with your home inside and out. We will always try to be on time and we will give you a call if we might be running late. We have not missed an appointment since 1986. We plan to remain a family-owned and operated business as we grow because we want to keep our strong reputation of excellent customer service. Out of the many people we have moved in the last 24 years, we estimate that 98.5% of the time they are very happy and we have yet to see anybody displeased with our service. We have received the Service Select Seal of Satisfaction Award 5 years in a row and we are accredited by the Better Business Bureau with no negative claims.

We love our fleet of hand painted trucks. Our first truck was designed by Miles Malie and painted as an art project for White House High School in 1987. As the fleet grew we wanted to involve more young artists so Tennessee Preparatory School painted our next truck. We currently have a fleet of three trucks but there is no job too large or too small for us. You’ll see our trucks on the road seven days a week to fit your schedule. We have plans to someday have a warehouse with storage capabilities.
